Why Tokyo?

Tokyo . 東京

Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō) is Japan's capital and the world's most populous metropolis. Tokyo is the administrative, cultural, financial, commercial, and educational centre of Japan and the focus of an extensive urban complex that includes Kawasaki and Yokohama. Attractions include the Imperial Palace, encircled by stone-walled moats and broad gardens, and numerous temples and shrines

Tokyo offers a seemingly unlimited choice of shopping, entertainment, culture and dining to its visitors. The city's history can be appreciated in districts and in many excellent museums, historic temples and gardens. Contrary to common perception, Tokyo also offers a number of attractive green spaces in the city center and within relatively short train rides at its outskirts.

Tsujihan

Kaisendon is pretty much the only dish on the menu at this Nihonbashi restaurant. It's specialty is bowl of fluffy rice topped with tuna, shellfish, salmon roe, leek, cucumber, uni and more.

Address:

3-1-15 Nihonbashi, Chuo Tokyo

What I like about it:

Tsujihan's kaisendon is best enjoyed in two ways. First, mixing everything together with soy sauce and second, mixed with their signature seabream broth.

Ichiran Ramen

Fukuoka-style tonkotsu pork broth ramen is the only ramen on the menu here but the firmness of the noodles, thickness of the broth, spice levels and toppings can all be customised.

Address:

1-22-7 Jinnan, Shibuya Tokyo

What I like about it:

Each space, referred to as a 'flavour concentration booth', fits only a single customer to encourage solo dining. This branch is open 24 hours.
